The celebration for the unofficial first day of summer is coming up!
(For Boulderites, the first day of summer is May 26th) The big event: the running of the 2014 Bolder Boulder 10k race on Memorial Day weekend.
Check list:
– Tomato plants are in their grow beds,
– House and exterior windows have been power washed,
– Carpets cleaned from spring – winter,
– Time to celebrate and honor Memorial Day; fire up the grill,
and
– Sign up for the Bolder Boulder (registration)
– If not running, scheduled on the calendar to share the event with someone that is running to hoot and holler from the stadium seats of Folsom Field.

c) National Guard F-16 fly over the stadium
d) Bolder Boulder Elite runners
The Bolder Boulder, running since 1979, has been named America’s all-time best 10k. (Not sure by whom has bestowed this distinction) No doubt it is a big race, the facts are: a) it is in Boulder (what a great venue) and b) there are up to 50,000 participants in the citizens race. So, no wonder the race ends in CU’s Folsom football stadium to accommodate the sheer amount of people.
Riley’s running this year, so I’ll be there early to catch him crossing the finish line.
