What is a Home Warranty?

The basic Home Warranty is a renewable service contract offering protection for a home’s major systems and appliances.

When purchasing or selling a home, after the Inspection, what could go wrong with any home systems (e.g. furnace – refrigerator) or appliance? I often refer to any “malfunction” as the “2 week” rule: which seems to be the time frame in a real estate transaction that a problem surfaces post closing day.
