Just what is a C.L.U.E. report?
‘C.L.U.E.’ stands for Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange. Big deal? Well yes, because now it is important to understand any implications regarding home or property insurance.
The C.L.U.E. report is a comprehensive database of personal property information relating to insurance claims on private property. The insurance companies are linking their data, and to share between carriers.
Key reason that insurance companies instituted this initiative to share data? It seems that some home owners were/are financing remodel projects via home owner/property insurance claims. And, insurance companies, regardless of the type of claim, want to have data on how many claims (known as ‘loss history’) on a specific property. Perhaps insurance companies attempting to gain a handle how and where to minimize the amount of claims?
